Why Sister Wives’ Christine Brown Knew Adding Robyn Would Hurt The Browns
Sister Wives Christine Brown seemed to understand early on in ex-Kody Brown's relationship with wife Robyn Brown that things would be difficult.

Sister Wives star Christine Brown seems to have always known that her ex-husband Kody Brown’s relationship with his current wife, Robyn Brown, would put a huge strain on their family and relationship. Though Christine was Kody’s third wife, who he married after Meri Brown (1990) and Janelle Brown (1993), her addition to the family went a lot more smoothly than Robyn’s. Kody didn’t just spiritually marry Robyn the way he did with Christine and Janelle, but legally divorced Meri so he could legally marry Robyn and adopt her three children.
Though Sister Wives Kody Brown has spoken about not playing favorites with his wives, he has exhibited favoritism when it comes to Robyn, especially as their marriage has continued. While the split of time and attention seemed to be simple when Kody only had three wives, his marriage with Robyn complicated things and gave Kody’s other wives pause. While the Brown family has gone through some changes in the past few years, it is clear that Christine’s feelings about adding Robyn to the family eventually came true.
Christine Brown Was Open About Her Concerns Regarding Robyn

Early in the run of Sister Wives, when the show was documenting Robyn joining the Brown family, Christine spoke about her concerns often. She explained how it would be difficult to add Robyn into the family after they were all so established, with Kody’s three other wives being in the picture for around 20 years at that point. Christine also explained that she had concerns about Robyn’s intentions with the family. She felt that while she, Janelle, and Meri had all married Kody and been supportive of the family as a whole, Robyn was only interested in marrying Kody, not the extended Brown family.
Kody Brown Wasn’t Able To Split His Time After Marrying Robyn Brown

Christine foreshadowed much of what would happen in the future with her concerns about Robyn joining the large polygamous family. She spoke freely about Kody not being able to split his time well, which Kody only got worse with after marrying Robyn, and how Robyn is selfish in her marriage, which she has proven to be. Christine was also right about Robyn’s addition to the family breaking it apart, as Kody is now left with Robyn as his only wife. Though Meri was initially aware of Robyn and her intentions to marry Kody and join the Brown family, Christine, and Janelle were kept in the dark, which ultimately made it more difficult for them to accept their new sister wife.
As a new chapter is on the horizon, it is clear that the show will be very different when it returns for Sister Wives season 18. With Christine living in another state, Janelle possibly moving as well, and Meri’s plans unclear, the Brown family has a lot of changes coming their way. Robyn and Kody, who may be searching for another sister wife to join the family, will have a brand new set of issues to work through.
