‘Yellowstone’ Fans, We Found Your Next Favorite Shows

1) 1883
1883 is the prequel to Yellowstone and tells the story of how the Duttons made their way from Texas out to Montana. It has all the Wild West elements Yellowstone fans could hope for while also making the Dutton legacy that much clearer. While it’s a limited series, Taylor Sheridan (the creator) announced that a second Yellowstone prequel—1932—is on the way.
2) 1923
1923 is the next installment in the Yellowstone franchise, following the Dutton family as they struggle to survive during the Great Depression. The show doesn’t come out until December 18 on Paramount+, but with stars like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, we’re already hooked!
3) The Sopranos
One of HBO’s most beloved drama series, The Sopranos, which came out in 1999, follows the questionable pursuits of mob-boss Tony Soprano. There are six seasons. While you won’t find any cowboy hats or horses here, you’ll find Dutton-esque family dynamics.
4) Succession
Another cult-favorite HBO show, Succession tells the story of how four adult children react to their father’s sudden announcement that he wishes to retire from his role as the head of one of the world’s largest media and entertainment conglomerates. There are three seasons, so you’ll have plenty to binge.
5) Bloodline
Netflix’s Bloodline, which debuted in 2015 and has three seasons, was an instant hit thanks to the various storylines embedded within the overall plot. The show takes place in Key West and tells the story of an adult family who uncovers secrets about one another.
6) Deadwood
HBO’s Deadwood is an especially great option for Yellowstone fans as it, too, is a Western. After premiering in 2004, the show went on to make three seasons, all of which focus on the gold rush, bandits, and the wild, wild West.
7) Breaking Bad
AMC’s Breaking Bad aired in 2008 and went on to have five seasons. The show follows Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who turns to making and dealing meth after being diagnosed with lung cancer in an effort to set his family up financially in the event that he dies from his diagnosis.
8) Mayor of Kingstown
Mayor of Kingstown premiered on Paramount+ in 2022 and regularly had ads during season 4 of Yellowstone. The show, written by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, follows a family of power brokers working in Kingstown, Michigan, a place characterized by the incarceration industry.
9) Longmire
Longmire is a modern American Western-meets-crime drama show that premiered in 2012 on A&E. The show, which has six seasons, follows Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire on his journey to turn his life around following his wife’s death, all while diving headfirst into his job in law enforcement.
10) Sons of Anarchy
FX’s Sons of Anarchy follows the pursuits of the Teller-Morrow family, who make up the Sons of Anarchy, a motorcycle club in Charming, California. Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) is the protagonist throughout the five season series.
