Yellowstone Is Ending After Season 5 Finishes

After months of wondering, we finally know what’s happening with Yellowstone. Unfortunately, it isn’t good.

The show is returning with the second half of its fifth season in November. But when the fifth season ends, so does Yellowstone itself.

It has been confirmed that Yellowstone is getting a sequel series that will debut in December. So hopefully some members of the main cast will be on that show as well.

“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits,” said Chris McCarthy, the CEO of MTV Entertainment Studios. “I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit.”

While doom-filled rumors about Yellowstone‘s fate were circling for some time, fans were still shocked by the news of its end. So was country singer Lainey Wilson, who plays the musician Abby on the series.

Lainey Shares Her Reaction To Yellowstone’s Ending

Extra interviewed Wilson on the red carpet at the ACM Awards. They asked her about Yellowstone‘s end, and she shared her reaction to the unfortunate news:

“It’s crazy,” she said, making it clear how surprised she was by the news. “No I will say, I realize that the TV business is even crazier than the music business…but it’s like, I don’t even know what’s happening! I’m waiting for [show creator] Taylor [Sheridan] to holler at me.”

At the time, Wilson made it seem like she didn’t know yet if she’d even be returning for the second half of Season 5. “If they give me the call, you bet your bottom dollar I’ll be there,” she said with a smile.

We sure hope to see Wilson back on Yellowstone! Head below to watch her full interview with Extra to see her reaction to the news of the show’s end.
