When Will Yellowstone Season 6 Be Released?
The smash hit Western drama may be returning to screens after season 5 part 2.
Yellowstone is one of the biggest TV shows of recent years. Premiering in 2018, it follows the owner of America’s largest ranch, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, and his ascent to Montana governor.
With Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 set to release November 2024, fans want to know if it’s the last we’ll see of the smash hit Western drama.
The bad news is, Season 5 Part 2 will be the final instalment of Yellowstone. It was written to be that way, with no plans for a season 6 at this stage.
The show’s biggest actor, Kevin Costner, objected to the split season. He’s currently working on his own four-movie franchise titled Horizon: An American Saga, and wanted to film his final season on the show in one go.
This scheduling dispute, together with the writers and actors strikes, resulted in an ever-increasing large gap between part one and part two. Yellowstone season 5, part 2’s release date puts it roughly one year and ten months after the conclusion of part one.
It’s not all bad news, however. There’s rumors a Yellowstone spinoff starring Matthew McConaughey is filling the void left by the show. Its release date is yet to be confirmed.
