She’s known as tough-talking, potty-mouthed American ranch girl Beth Dutton on the hit series Yellowstone, currently streaming on Stan in Australia.

But actress Kelly Reilly was actually born and raised in London, a long way from Montana where the hit modern-day western is set.

Fans were left in shock this week when they heard the flamed-haired 45-year-old’s accent during an interview with her co-stars, Cole Hauser and Kevin Costner.

‘Beth is English?!’ one exclaimed, after watching the sit-down with the stars on Stan’s official Instagram.

Another surprised fan said: ‘Mmm, excuse me, that’s not what Beth sounds like.’

In the video, Kelly answered questions about what viewers can expect from the latest and fifth season.

Her strong English accent bares little resemblance to the strong American twang she uses in the show to portray Beth.

In Yellowstone, Kelly plays Beth Dutton, the daughter of John Dutton, a sixth-generation rancher hailing from a white pioneer family of the American west.

Much of Beth’s storyline over the course of the first four seasons focuses on her tumultuous relationship with her cowboy boyfriend and now husband, Rip.

Played by Cole Hauser, Rip is her father’s violent right-hand man.

Without giving away any spoilers, Kelly says in the interview that Beth and Rip are ‘soulmates’.

‘Now they are married, who knows what is going to happen to them?,’ she teased.

Born and raised in Chessington, London, Kelly is the daughter of hospital receptionist mother and a police officer father.

She rose to fame in the hit HBO series True Detective, after forging a stellar career on the English stage and UK TV hit Above Suspicion.

Yellowstone has been a runaway streaming success story since it premiered in 2018.
