Yellowstone will be bowing out later this year with season five part two returning in November, however, not everyone is going to be tuned in.

Taylor Sheridan-creation Yellowstone is the epic Western drama that has captured the hearts of Paramount Network viewers around the globe.

The drama’s popularity grew so much that the Yellowstone universe expanded, telling the story of the Duttons’ ancestors in the form of prequels 1883 and 1923.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the next prequel 1944 is officially in development so that it could potentially make its way to our screens later this year.

Sadly, it is the beginning of the end for the original drama with the Kevin Costner-led series coming to a close once season five part two finishes.

But one person who won’t miss watching Yellowstone is Kayce Dutton star Luke Grimes as he hasn’t seen a single episode anyway.

When asked if he tunes in on TODAY, Grimes clarified: “I don’t. Not because I don’t want to or because I’m too cool to.

“It’s because I think it would affect my work since we’re still doing it.

“I don’t like watching myself in general and I get really in my head and judgey about what I’m doing.”

He added: “I think one day, when it’s all said and done, I’ll sit down and watch the whole thing.”

The Western drama may not have aired its final episodes just yet but Grimes is already working on something else.

According to his IMDb profile, he will star in the upcoming comedy-drama Happiness for Beginners as a character called Jake.

Currently in post-production, the synopsis for the project reads: “Helen signs up for a wilderness survival course, a year after getting divorced.

“She discovers through this experience that sometimes, you have to get really lost in order to find yourself.”

Yellowstone may be almost over but the future remains bright for the franchise as a whole.

The original series will be replaced by a sequel series starring none other than actor Matthew McConaughey.

So far, it isn’t clear who is going to be joining McConaughey in the cast for the latest drama.

Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network.
