star explained that due to circumstances, alongside his father’s advice, he took his leave from the film as well as the DCEU franchise. He said:

“They didn’t want to pay me any money for those next movies, and … they didn’t have another script for the other movie, so I didn’t know what I was going to be signing myself up for. (His Father)  said, ‘If it feels like they really need you and if it’s a good part, then do it. If not, then don’t.’ I didn’t have the answer to those questions at that time. I wasn’t going to have the answers, and they were pressuring me. So ultimately it didn’t happen,”

Therefore, taking his father’s advice along with witnessing the failure of the original film, Scott Eastwood didn’t return to the DCEU.

What Was Suicide Squad About?

Bringing the rag-tag team of villains and misfits from the pages of DC Comics, Suicide Squad was the effort put by DCEU to bring all the villains from the comic books to the big screen in an attempt to make them work for the safety of the United States from supernatural threats that riddle the world. While the attempt was admirable, the execution of the film seemed to lack the expression and narration that we saw in 2021’s The Suicide Squad which was directed by now-DC Films CEO James Gunn.
