Yellowstone has only grown in popularity since its first season aired in 2018.

All this to say, the Yellowstone fanbase is real! So it’s not surprising that fans love contemplating the many theories—and many rumors—surrounding Taylor Sheridan’s hit neo-Western drama. For example, feels like we just unpacked the whole “is Kevin Costner leaving Yellowstone?” mystery, right? (He’s not, by the way!)

But now another fan-favorite Yellowstone character has become the subject of a similar rumor. There are questions looming around Cole Hauser’s character, Rip Wheeler, and his future on the show.

The beloved character, aka Beth Dutton’s (Kelly Reilly) new husband, is certain to appear on Season 5 of the show. (Hauser has all but confirmed this with the many Instagram posts he’s shared from the set while filming in Montana.)

But in a recent interview, he admitted that he has no idea how Rip’s story will conclude, leaving room for speculation that he might not make it to the end of the series.

This isn’t necessarily bad news, but it’s not great either! With all the shocking character deaths on Yellowstone

, we’d appreciate a little more security when it comes to the characters we hold close to our heart!

Hauser also expressed that he doesn’t want to know how the show ends.

“Personally just for me if you’re asking me, I like to go to work and actually live and grow with the character and not know the end at all, you know,” Hauser told the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. “(I want to) be able to find those moments and live really in those moments whether it’s with Beth, whether it’s with John…”

Well, at least we know he loves being on the show as much as we love watching him! Here’s hoping Rip will be with us all the way through the series finale.
