The Browns are a large polygamous family, and the complicated Sister Wives family tree can be difficult to break down. Kody Brown has had to deal with balancing the needs of four wives for over ten years, but recently failed in his endeavor. In big polygamous sects, some marry their own family members, and Kody may have followed this tradition as well.
Sister Wives’ Kody Brown and his four wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown debuted on TLC back in 2010 when they fled Lehi, Utah, due to fears that Kody might be arrested. The family seemed to work well together, with some wives leaving home to earn a living, while others stayed back and raised the children. Kody believed that loved should be multiplied and not divided; however, over the years, jealousy seemed to become a major issue, which in turn caused cracks in their family foundation.

As the original wife of Kody, Meri thought she would have a good setup, especially when she was the only legal wife. The couple married in 1990 and had one child, Leon Brown. Meri couldn’t get pregnant again, which led to a cold relationship with Kody.

Janelle is Kody’s second wife, and the couple married in 1994. Before marrying him, Janelle was married to Adam Barber, who coincidentally is Meri’s brother. Janelle’s mother, Sheryl Usher, remarried after her husband passed away in 1972. In fact, Sheryl went on to marry Kody’s father, William Winn Brown. However, Janelle and Kody aren’t related by blood. Janelle and Kody have six children together, Logan, Madison, Hunter, Gabe, Garrison, and Savanah Brown. Logan, who is the oldest Brown sibling, married Michelle Petty in October, while Madison married Caleb Brush in June 2016. Janelle and Kody now have three grandchildren, Axel, Evie, and Joey.

Christine and Kody tied the knot in 1995, and Christine’s bloodline was known for her royal ties to the Mormon religion’s beginnings, which appealed to Kody. With the help of Ancestry.com via Radar Online, it was revealed that Kody and Christine were related and could be kissing cousins. The two share the same ancestors, William Moore Allred and Orissa Angela Bates. After a bit of research, it was determined that Kody and Christine were actually fourth cousins. The couple has six children, Apsyn, Mykelti, Ysabel, Gwen, Truely, and Paedon Brown. Apsyn married Mitch Thompson, and Mykelti is married to Tony Padron. Together they have three grandchildren, Avalon, Archer, and Ace.
Robyn Brown’s Tree
Robyn and Kody have been married since 2010, and their courtship and wedding played out on Sister Wives. While Robyn and Kody aren’t directly related, Robyn’s ex-husband David Jessop is a first cousin of Christine and a third cousin of Kody. The lineage gets stranger, since Robyn’s first three children, Dayton, Aurora, and Breanna, are actually blood-related to their adoptive father, Kody.
